Southeast BIO is a regional non-profit organization that fosters the growth of the life sciences industry in the Southeastern United States through efforts that promote entrepreneurship and bring together the key players active in the development of the industry. The region is home to several venture capital funds with a life sciences focus and in 2012, approximately 22% of the almost $1.2 billion of venture capital invested in the Southeast was invested in the life sciences industry (PricewaterhouseCoopers MoneyTree(tm) Report).
