| AerovectRx, an Atlanta-based developer of inhaled drug delivery technology, has raised an undisclosed amount in its first round of venture capital, led by Georgia Venture Partners, Emergent Growth Fund, and the Advanced Technology Development Center Seed Fund of Atlanta. AerovectRx's technology was licensed from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) where it was developed with support from the U.S. government and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The technology delivers therapies and vaccines in microscopic mist. It is the first such application to receive clearance to market from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. AerovectRX is participating in the Early-Stage program of the 2006 Southeastern BIO Investor Forum, set for November 8-10 in Atlanta. |
