Pelican Life Sciences, a Charlotte-based provider of products for biotechnology discovery and detection, recently announced that it has acquired three separate companies. One of the acquired businesses is CLP, a San Diego-based maker of disposable fluid handling plastics, reagents and instrumentation used in molecular biology research. Another acquisition is PGC, a Maryland-based maker of molecular biology and scientific product consumables. The third acquisition is Kemp, a Maryland-based provider of cell culture, protein expression, and protein purification on a contract basis. Financial terms of the three deals were not disclosed. Pelican Life Sciences is backed by $100 million in venture capital commitments through Grotech Capital Group and Ferrer Freeman & Co. |
