Biotechnology will soon become an everyday word in the once textile-centered town of Kannapolis, North Carolina, outside of Charlotte. Come learn more about biotechnology and what it means for Kannapolis on the advent of the new 350-acre North Carolina Research Campus and the Southeast region.
The City of Kannapolis, Ernst & Young, and Southeast BIO, with support from the Cabarrus Regional Partnership and the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, are presenting a free event to educate the Charlotte community and others interested in biotechnology.
Mike Constantino, partner at Ernst & Young, head of its Southeastern life sciences practice and board member of Southeast BIO, will spotlight key findings and trends featured in Ernst & Young's annual biotechnology report. The report offers a strategic view of the industry at a global level as well as insight into major regional markets. Key trends in the Southeastern biotech industry will be highlighted.
Lynn Scott Safrit, Castle & Cooke, will provide an update on construction of the Research Campus, and bus tours will be available for anyone wishing to tour the construction site.
The event will also feature a state and regional panel to provide participants the opportunity to ask questions about new initiatives to promote biotechnology and advance regionalism.
