With over 600 biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and a foundation of nearly 40,000 healthcare establishments, Florida's life sciences cluster continues to gain critical mass around the state. Today, more than 600 Florida companies specialize in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical devices and employ over 26,000 professionals, with an additional 646,000 working in the healthcare sector.
