RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: BCRX) today announced that the underwriters of its recent public offering of its common stock have exercised in full their option to purchase an additional 600,000 shares. The total gross proceeds from this offering to BioCryst, including from the exercise of the over-allotment option, are expected to be $20.2 million, before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and other estimated offering expenses payable by BioCryst. BioCryst expects to use net proceeds of this offering for general corporate purposes, including funding clinical development of BCX4161, continued development of second generation hereditary angioedema compounds and pre-commercialization activities related to intravenous peramivir. The offering, including the sale of the additional shares, is expected to close on August 6, 2013, subject to customary closing conditions.
