  • Direct SEBIO, the organization. As the “CEO” of SEBIO, set agenda in coordination with the Board/ Executive Committee, execute agenda in coordination with the Board and committee membership, manage the daily business of the organization by coordinating its activities, including interacting with the numerous volunteers and tending to the daily necessities of running the business.
  • Serve as spokesperson/ public face of SEBIO, with general responsibility to further the affairs and relationships of the organization. This includes building and maintaining relationships with members of the Executive Committee, Board members, the various state BIO affiliates and other life sciences organizations in the region, including the pursuit of collaborative and cooperative efforts where appropriate and representing the organization and state/ regional venture conferences, life sciences meetings and national meetings, where appropriate.
  • Oversee and participate in the fundraising efforts of SEBIO each year, working closely with the Sponsorship Chair to ensure our goals are met.
  • Oversee and participate in the recruiting and coordination of volunteers each year, including members of the Executive Committee, Board and Steering Committee.
  • Support/ supervise the planning of the annual investor forum in coordination with the annual chair of the event. This includes fundraising, sponsorship solicitation, committee coordination, executing the marketing plan and other managerial duties, including primary oversight of the event management company.
  • Coordinate the SE BIO/Plan competition by working closely with the BIO/Plan Chair, including fundraising, overseeing the website, soliciting applicants, directing all marketing, supporting committee activities, etc.
  • Direct and execute the marketing campaign for SEBIO (Investor Forum, BIO/Plan, Board activities) including, drafting and sending marketing email announcement blasts, managing marketing database and contacts, press releases, articles/columns, bimonthly newsletter, etc.
  • Oversee the design, development and maintenance of the website, databases, collateral materials, mailing lists, historical records (document success of SEBIO presenting companies) and other records of the organization.
  • Manage the monthly finances of the organization in coordination with the treasurer. Assist treasurer in maintenance of financial records, development of budgets.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the activities of the officers, directors and committee chairs.
  • Maintain the schedule and all logistical arrangements for SEBIO Board and Executive Committee, including, maintenance of Board minutes in coordination with the Secretary and Chair.
