ATLANTA, Georgia (May 22, 2012) – Veteran industry executives Mark Augusti, CEO of Bioventus, and Peter Greenleaf, President of MedImmune, will give keynote addresses during the 14th annual Southeast BIO Investor Forum being held October 31 through November 1, 2012, at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida.
Augusti helped lead the Bioventus launch in May 2012, a strategic venture between the company’s owners, an Essex Woodlands-led investor syndicate and Smith & Nephew, the global medical technology business.
Prior to Greenleaf’s promotion to president of MedImmune, the worldwide biologics arm for AstraZeneca, he led the company’s global marketing and portfolio organizations and managed its broader commercial, corporate-development and strategy functions.
Headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, Bioventus, which grew out of Smith & Nephew’s former Biologics and Clinical Therapies division, is a global leader of active orthopaedic healing. It includes nearly 500 U.S. employees who develop and market innovative and successful products to help accelerate bone healing and treat osteoarthritis pain.
MedImmune, headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland, has more than 3,500 employees worldwide.
